Our History
The CCB is the world's oldest private broadcasting organisation. It was founded on 11 March 1932 by Henry Fish Hutton, to broadcast experimental radio services.
The first transmission was on 14 November of that year, from the station located in Shaftesbury Ave, London. That year its founder Mr. Fish Hutton became its first general manager.
Experimental television broadcasts were started in 1934. Limited regular broadcasts began in 1935, and an expanded service (now named the CCB Hisotry Television Service) started in 1937.
Even since the advent of commercial television and radio, the CBB has remained one of the main elements in British and then world culture.
